Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Monitor and support of the site manufacturing department on all problems which may affect quality of products manufactured
Conduct feasibility studies on the acquisition of manufacturing or testing equipment
Conduct evaluations of product failures and co-ordinate corrective measures and improvements as required
Take responsibility for all new and existing product design requirements and reviews
Support Cable Design department in relation to product design and maintenance of all aspects of cable design requirements within the Cable Design System and/or Cable design manuals
Concentrate on Continuous improvement of product designs to improve processes, Quality, material usage and cost
Conduct ongoing product validation through the evaluation of Cable Dissection reports and initiating the relevant follow up action through the Central Design Department and other site departments as required
Take responsibility for new product development and trials in manufacturing. Support the Group Materials objectives on evaluation of new and altemative raw materials and compounds
Ensure that products and materials are effectively industrialized within the manufacturing environment including motivation for CAPEX for new and altered products to be manufactured, as applicable
Develop and ensure that all products manufactured on site have adequate and effective inspection and test plans (within laboratories, test bays etc.) Conduct ad-hoc and specialized testing and investigations to act on issues of non-quality or quality incidents in support of the manufacturing site and/or customer complaints
Co-ordinate all site Technical inputs related to or required for SABS, BASEC and VDE Quality audits as required by Group Quality
Participate in formal structures related to the development and maintenance of product technical standards e.g. AECMSA-TSC as may be required
Maintain the Site Technical Specification library including documentation control
Ensure that the company complies with the surveillance of sample requirements under the product permits via a site Bond Store or other appropriate means and to ensure that all product type testing requirements are fully adhered to and complied with
Ensure the relevant authorizations are done in accordance with official procedures for change proposals, experimental orders, Technical details, FX and PACE procedures etc.
Manage all Technical sub-sections and associated budgeting requirements i.e.: Laboratories, Test Bays, Quality Controls, specification library etc. Support the central materials development department through the processes of new raw trials and approvals
Represent the site technical department in all off site and on-site meetings as required

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering OR BTech in Electrical Engineering
At least 8 years of experience in Cable Design/Product testing and development in a manufacturing environment, at a management level
Laboratory and Quality Control experience will be advantageous
