Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain stock levels for all stock items as per Stores best practice.
Codification of stock items.
Management of repairable items
Control goods receiving and internal distribution of all general purchased items and prepare relevant documents for creditor’s department.
Correct allocation of items to bins and bin location.
Prepare and process stock-taking documents and make all arrangements required for cycle and full stock take.
To ensure stores working instructions/procedures, as well as business process is followed at all times.
To ensure integrity of the information on SAP concerning receipts and issues captured. To facilitate the creation of new stock codes on SAP.
To issue stock status reports to the Material Control Manager on a regular basis, or as required.
Identify critical spares and implement back up measures to reduce unplanned stops.
Identify opportunities for sourcing improvements and savings.
General administrative tasks i.e. expediting of orders, filing of documents etc.
Must have sound knowledge of material shelf life
Implement measures to ensure FIFO
Must have sound knowledge of safety policies and procedures
Manage subordinates in an effective manner.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Diploma in Stores/Supply Chain management
CIPS qualification will be advantageous
5 years’ experience in a stores/ warehouse environment in a supervisory capacity.
Sound knowledge of inventory management.
Computer proficient (MS Office & SAP)
