Our client, a global engineering and construction company, is seeking skilled Site Engineers x3 – Civil and Electrical to join a large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) project in the Northern Cape. This is a project-based contract until November 2027.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering, depending on area of responsibility.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ site engineering/construction experience within the relevant discipline.
- Proven experience working on EPC, construction, energy, power, mining or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction execution, engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and site construction activities.
- Ability to work effectively across Engineering, Construction, Quality and HSE functions.
- Experience in solar PV, BESS, power generation or renewable energy projects will be highly advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving, coordination and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site activities within the relevant discipline (Civil, Electrical/BESS, or Electrical/PV).
- Monitor construction progress against project schedules and milestones.
- Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and contractual requirements.
- Assist in the planning and sequencing of construction activities.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Coordinate with design engineers and consultants to clarify technical matters (RFIs).
- Verify that construction works align with approved engineering designs.
- Identify and proactively resolve technical and construction-related issues.
- Conduct site inspections and quality control checks.
- Prepare regular reports on progress, timelines, and performance.
- Maintain accurate project records, daily logs, and as-built documentation.
- Comply with project HSE requirements and South African legislation.
