Our client, a leading EPC firm, is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Rivonia.

Ideal start date: May 2023


Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead an electrical engineering and design team for the execution of the electrical scope on EPC and EPCM projects.
  • Work with minimal supervision in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to the project schedule and manage the electrical design team to complete a project within the allocated budget.
  • Liaise with other engineering disciplines and other departments to ensure alignment.
  • Liaise with clients and vendors to ensure alignment.
  • Perform electrical network studies and protection grading studies.
  • Medium and low voltage substation design, including equipment specification and selection.
  • High voltage substation and overhead line design, including equipment specification and selection.
  • Develop electrical specifications and designs compliant with local regulations and client specifications.
  • Review and approve the designs of other team members.


NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • BSc/BEng Electrical Engineering degree
  • PREng registered (active)
  • 12 years general electrical design experience with at least 6 years in the Oil & Gas environment.
  • Understanding of all engineering disciplines
  • Willing and able to travel to site
  • Network studies and protection grading studies.
  • Medium and low voltage substation design.
  • High voltage substation and overhead line design experience will be beneficial.
  • Field engineering experience, including lighting and small power design, earthing and lightning protection design, cable racking and routing design, cathodic protection design and cable sizing and selection.
  • Hazardous area classification studies, drawings, and the selection of equipment for use in hazardous areas.
  • Knowledge of and understanding of SABS / IEC standards.
  • The ability to interpret MFD’s and P&ID’s.
  • Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
