Our client, a well-known heavy construction business based in Boksburg, currently seeks to hire a National Sales Manager to join their established team. In this role, you will maintain and grow market share in line with the sales strategy through the efficient management of assigned sales staff and customers and will report into the General Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric / N3 / National Vocational / Technical qualification
• Bachelor’s Degree (3 years)- advantageous
• Minimum 10 years’ commercial and sales experience with at least 5 years’ expertise at management level within the heavy construction/ engineering/ mining industry
• Must be medically fit/ pass a site medical
• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle

Main duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Budgeting
   • Participate in setting sales budgets & forecasts for the assigned sales reps
   • Maximise sales so as to achieve or better revenue targets
   • Monitor forecast revenue targets

2. Financial / Commercial

• Executing the sales strategy by defining the market and customer focus in order to achieve revenue goals
• Accountable for total revenue as assigned to sales reps
• Manage the pricing strategy to maintain agreed GP

3. Customer/ Stakeholder Relations

• Stakeholder engagement & business development
• Stakeholder management including regular visits to top customers
• Undertake special projects and duties as assigned by his Manager

4. People Management

• Lead, coach, mentor, train, develop, discipline and manage staff to achieve both the Company’s and their own personal goals

5. Strategic Direction

• Ensure that the sales strategy is understood and executed by the sales team and reviewed quarterly

6. Safety / Security

• Ensure sales reps adhere to safety standards

7. Governance

• Inculcate and achieve good governance/ compliance and ethics with the sales reps

8. Communication

• Monthly and quarterly communications with clients
• Formal and informal communication on a regular basis
• Regular communication with Manager
