Our client, operating within the construction and bulk water infrastructure sector, is
looking to appoint an experienced Construction Manager to lead major infrastructure
projects, including pipelines, weirs, pump stations and related civil works.
Purpose of the Role:
 To manage and coordinate day-to-day construction activities and site operations.
 To ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required
quality standards.
 Managing construction teams, subcontractors, resources and project interfaces.
 Oversee pipeline and bulk water infrastructure construction activities.

Minimum Requirements:
 Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or equivalent
qualification.

 15+ years’ experience as a Construction Manager.
 Minimum 5 years’ direct pipeline construction experience.
 Proven experience on major steel pipeline / bulk water infrastructure projects.
 Experience with 800mm ND+ pipelines.
 Experience in pipeline installation, welding, NDT and hydrostatic/pressure
testing.
 Experience working under a FIDIC contract.
 Professional registration with ECSA, SACPCMP or equivalent.
 Strong knowledge of OHSA, NEMA and SANS standards.
 Proficiency in Primavera P6 / MS Project and MS Office.
 Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Main duties will include, but are not limited to:
 Manage daily construction activities, teams and subcontractors.
 Develop and execute construction programmes and plans.
 Manage labour, plant, equipment and materials.
 Monitor project progress, productivity, quality and costs.
 Oversee pipeline installation, welding, testing and reinstatement.
 Implement Method Statements, safety plans and quality controls.
 Ensure compliance with OHSA, NEMA, SANS and project requirements.
 Conduct effective troubleshooting and resolve construction issues.
 Maintain site diaries, progress reports and as-built documentation.
 Support RFIs, claims, variations and payment certificates.
 Coordinate inspections, testing and NCR close-out.
 Liaise with engineers, stakeholders, communities and regulatory authorities.
 Ensure all construction activities are completed according to approved
specifications and programmes.
 Support project handover and completion requirements.
 Manage large construction teams and subcontractors effectively.

 Ensure a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity always.
